PHILIPPINE TROGON

(Harpactes ardens)
  ENDEMIC    

The Philippine Trogon is endemic to the Philippines. It is a strikingly attractive bird and is commonly found sitting 5 to 10m from the ground on a vine or branch flying out to snatch fruit from the end of branches. When disturbed it flies off with a rather floppy flight.
