Fernando Calderon was a physician and was the first Filipino director of the Philippine General Hospital.

In 1916, Dr Fernando Calderon became the first Filipino dean of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine and the first Filipino director of Philippine General Hospital.

 

A pioneer in Filipino obstetrics, in 1923 he led the Department of Gynecology when it became a separate department from the Department of Surgery.
