Casmiro del Rosario was a physicist. He was director of the Weather Bureau from 1946 to 1958

CASMIRO DEL ROSARIO      

del Rosario obtained a doctorate in physics in 1932. He taught at the University of the Philippines and later headed the department of physics.

 

In 1946, del Rosario was designated director of the Weather Bureau.  He later became the first vice-chairman of the National Science and Development Board.  

 

Dr del Rosario was known for his research on ultraviolet light of different wavelengths, the effect of radioactive radiation on Euglena, and high voltage electrical discharges in a vacuum.   He was conferred as a National Scientist in 1982.
