ROBERT JAWORKSI

8 March 1946 to present  

Robert Jaworksi is a former professional basketball player and head coach. He played 23 seasons in the Philippine Basketball Association and is widely regarded as one of the best and most popular PBA players of all time

Jaworski was born in Baguio to Ilocano and Polish-American parents. He started collegiate basketball for the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors. He entered the arena of commercial basketball in 1968.

Jaworski is one of the pioneer players of the oldest basketball league in Asia – the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Jaworski brought home four championships as a playing coach during the 1986, 1988, 1991 conferences and the 1997 Commissioner’s Cup. He holds the title as the oldest basketball player to professionally play in the PBA for his participation at an official game in Dumaguete City (1997) at 50 years old. Jaworski played for 23 seasons in the PBA since its inaugural year up until his retirement in 1998.

 Jaworksi was elected and served as a Senator from 1998 to 2004.
