Cesar Legaspi was a painter and was awarded National Artist of the Philippines for visual arts in 1990.
Cesar Legaspi is known for refining cubism in the Philippine context and later was part of the Neorealists. His distinctive style and daring themes contributed significantly to the advent and eventual acceptance of modern art in the Philippines.
Legaspi's major works include 'Man and Woman' (1945) and 'Gadgets' (1947).
