Brother Lewis (Aloyisius) of Gonzaga (Joseph McGiverin) was born in America and was one of the founders of the De La Salle University in Manila, in 1911.
ALOYSIUS McGIVERIN
McGiverin was the only American amongst the founders. He left Manila due to illness in 1938.
The De La Salle Brothers fouded the De La Salle College in Paco, Manila, which was established as an elementary and high school for boys. The college was moved to Malate, Manila in 1921 and was granted university status in 1975.
