Greogorio Meliton Martinez was the 22nd Archbishop of Manila.
Martinez was born in Sapin and was appointed Archbishop of Manila in July 1861. In 1872 the Governor-General asked the Archbishop of Manila, Gregorio Meliton Martinez to have the Gomburza three (Fathers Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos and Jacinto Zamora) declared as heretics and defrocked but he refused as he believed in Gomburza's innocence.
He resinged form his post in 1875.
