SALUD TESORO

6 February 1915 to ???

Salud Tesoro (nee Santos)  was the co-founder of the handicraft store known as 'Tesoros'.

From a young age Tesoro managed her uncle's hat shop (Pineda's Hat Shop) in Intramuros.  However, during World War II the store was destroyed.

In 1945, Salud (together with her husband and uncle) opened a new store in Escolta which retailed hats from her native Bulacan and a range of handicrafts from all over the Phlippines. The store was named "Tesoro" which meant 'treasure' in Spanish and with time the store become synonymous with Philippine handicrafts.
