Francisco Ortigas was a prominent businessman and was president and chairman of Ortigas and Co.

FRANCISCO ORTIGAS, JR

After the death of his father, Ortigas, Jr. became president and chairman of Ortigas and Co in 1936.  Under his leadership the vacant Hacienda de Mandaloyon (property which spanned the municipalities that are now known as Mandaluyong, San Juan, Pasig and Quezon City in the geographical heart of present-day Metro Manila) was transformed into a major business and residential district of Metro Manila.

 

Ortigas also established Concrete Aggregates Corporation (CAC) and invested heavily in in mining ventures in the Philippines.
