Joseph Stevenot was one of the founders of the Boy Scouts movement in the Philippines

JOSEPH STEVENOT

Joseph Stevenot was an American businessman who helped organize the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company and served as its Executive Vice President and General Manager.

 

Stevenot worked for the separation of the Scouting movement in the Philippines from that of the Boy Scouts of America. With the assistance of other civic organizations and other leaders, he co-founded the Boy Scouts of the Philippines in October 1936 and became its first national president.

 

He also assisted Josefa Escoda  in the organization of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.
