Crisanto de los Reyes was charged as an instigator of the Cavite mutiny of 1872 and was exiled to a penal colony in Spain
CRISANTO DE LOS REYES
De los Reyes was a generous contributor to any organization, which promoted the welfare of discriminated groups, such as the Filipino secular clergy, and most probably, the underpaid soldiers of Cavite who eventually mutinied in 1872.
When in exile de los Reyes managed to escape from Spain in 1874 and he made his way to Marseille in France where he set up a ship chandlery business. He returned to the Philippines in 1881.
