Vincente Fabella was the first Filipino Certified Public Accountant. He is the founder of the Jose Rizal University.

VINCENTE FABELLA    

Fabella was the first Filipino to obtain a Certificate in Public Accountancy from the United States making him the first Filipino Certified Public Accountant.

 

In 1916 he returned to the Philippines and opened the accounting firm Vicente Fabella and Company. He also became a professional lecturer in accounting and auditing at the University of the Philippines.

 

He founded the Far Eastern College School of Accounts, Commerce and Finance in 1919 which was renamed Jose Rizal College in 1922 and Jose Rizal University when it was granted university status in October 2000.
