Tomas Fonacier was along serving educator at the University of the Philippines, he was dean of the Iloilo College and of Diliman.

TOMAS FONACIER     

Fonacier’s government service at the University of the Philippines lasted for more than six decades, the longest so far on record. He started in 1917 when he was a student assistant at the University of the Philippines, and continued past 1966, when he was a member of the University of the Philippines board of regents.

 

Fonacier became the first dean of the UP Iloilo College in 1947. In 1950, he was summoned back to UP Diliman to become vice-dean of the college of liberal arts and, later, as dean, from 1963 to 1966.
