Jaime Ferrer was Chairman of the Commission on Elections, also known as COMELEC between 1969 and 1973.

JAIME FERRER

Ferrer had the reputation of a man of unquestionable integrity and honesty, he maintained 30 years of untainted record in government and public service. He was assassinated whilst holding the post of a Cabinet minister in Cory Aquino's government.

 

COMELEC is one of the three constitutional commissions of the Philippines. It is the premier guardian of the ballot. Its principal role is to enforce all laws and regulations relative to the conduct of elections, initiatives, referendums, and recalls.
