Manuel Camus was a lawyer and a Senator (1928 to 1931). He was one of the founders of the Boy Scouts movement in the Philippines

MANUEL CAMUS

In 1899, Camus served as an interpreter and translator for the Provost Marshal General of the United States Army.

 

Camus was a mason and in 1901, he became the only Filipino to be accepted by the Americans in their Manila lodge.

 

His philanthropic and civic involvement included being organizer of the Boy Scouts and YMCA movements in the Philippines and the Masonic Charities for Crippled Children.
