Sabino Padilla was Secretary of Justice (1948 to 1949) and an Associate Justice of
the Supreme Court (1946 to 1948 and again from 1949 to 1964 when he retired at the
age of 70)
Disdainful of the state of politics in the country, he and his brothers, Ambrosio
and Benedicto (senators and congressman, respectively of the then province Rizal)
would subsequently be known as the "Fighting Padillas" because of their crusade against
corruption and concern for the common tao.
