Mount Iraya is an ACTIVE volcano which last erupted in 1454.
Mount Iraya volcano is located on Batan Island north of the island of Luzon and is the northernmost active volcano in the Philippines. The volcano is heavily forested with an elevation of 1009m.
Iraya used to be considered as dormant because there had been no activity since its last eruption in 1454. However, in 1998 a swarm of seismic events was recorded which resulted in a reclassification to active
