MANILA CENTRAL POST OFFICE

The Manila Central Post Office building is located in Intramuros district, Manila. It is located on the banks of the Pasig River with the main entrance facing Liwasang Bonifacio. Stamps have depicted views of the building from either side.

The building was designed by Juan Arellano and was built in 1926. It was severely damaged during World War II but was rebuilt in 1946 preserving most of its original design.

Around midnight on 21 May 2023 the building was severly damaged by a fire that started in the basement and spread throughout its floors. Over 80 firetrucks were at the scene but the building was left completely gutted. Resotration of the building is currently in progress.

The building is constructed in a Neoclassical architectural style
