Emilio Jacinto was known as the Brains of the Katipunan.

EMILIO JACINTO

Jacinto joined the Katipunan secret society at the age of 20. He became the advisor on fiscal matters and secretary to Andres Bonifacio.

 

Jacinto wrote for the Kalayaan (the newspaper of the Katipunan).

 

After Bonifacio's death, Jacinto continued fighting the Spaniards but refused to join the forces of General Aguinaldo. He contracted malaria and died in Majayjay, Laguna, at the age of 24 .
