Lucide Martin was born in France and was one of the founders of the
De La Salle University in Manila
was recalled back to France in 1915 and later served as interpreter for the
Allied Armies in the First World War.
The De La Salle Brothers fouded the De La Salle College in Paco, Manila, which
was established as an elementary and high school for boys. The college was moved
to Malate, Manila in 1921 and was granted university status in 1975.
