Politicians and Statesmen

Legislative power in the Philippines is vested in both the government and a two-chamber congress comprising the Senate and the House of Representatives.
The political system in the Philippines involves 3 separate yet interdependent bodies:
  • Executive power, is held by the government (cabinet members appointed by the president)
  • Legislative power, is shared by the Senate (elected Senators) and the House of Representatives (elected Congressmen)
  • Judicial power is exercised in the courts with the Supreme Court of the Philippines as the highest body (appointed Chief Justice and Associate Justices).
